Step into a relaxed and welcoming creative workshop where pattern, print, and light come together. In a small group at Fiona’s Fabrics in Woodbridge, you’ll explore the beautiful art of block printing with a carefully curated selection of wood-blocks and linocut blocks to use during the class. You can test your print on scrap fabric before printing your chosen designs onto cotton or linen fabric before transforming your finished piece into a 30cm drum lampshade to take home.
All techniques are demonstrated step by step, and you’ll have plenty of time to experiment on test fabric before committing to your final design. While lampshade making may sound complex, you’ll be surprised at how approachable and satisfying the process is—making this workshop perfect for an inspiring afternoon of hands-on creativity.
During this workshop, you will:
-
Learn the fundamentals of block printing to personalise textiles
-
Practise your designs on scrap fabric before printing your final piece for your lampshade
-
Experiment with a curated selection of wooden blocks, linocut designs, and paint colours
-
