Hi, I’m Lydia and I have a few strings to my bow… primarily I print fabric with my own designs inspired by the Suffolk Coast and Countryside and sew them into Zipper bags, Cushions and Lampshades. I am proud to say all my textiles are hand printed and handmade by me.
Living in the gorgeous Suffolk coastal village of Orford, I’m lucky enough to encounter the subjects of my designs- the hares, foxes, bees , trees and wildflowers - on a daily basis when I’m out walking my dog. The Crabs, Lobsters and fish may be less visible but I know they are there, brought in by our local inshore fishermen to the still lively fishing trade in the village. Paired with all this abundance and a deep love of fabric, I’m proud that each print and product will always be as unique as this lovely corner of the world I' call home.
Followers of Lovely Lydia will know that I also cook and create recipes, bake and decorate cakes, that I am developing my dress making skills and (with a background of 5 years working for the United Kingdom government in Brussels) give daily updates on current affairs and Brexit on Instagram stories.
