An opportunity to bring children to experience this fun and colourful craft! Children ages 8 and above are invited to come along with an adult to explore printing for textiles together.
This is a lovely introduction to both lino cutting, a printmaking process, and creating your own textiles! lydia will also bring her gorgeous selection of wood and linocuts to print with.
On this course Lydia will talk through the basic techniques, how the materials work and what you need (including where to get it) to complete the course and carry on linocutting and printing fabric at home. Her mission is to get you printing!
The method is very straight-forward, accessible for all abilities and easy to do at home… as printing goes, it’s pretty un-messy too! You will have the opportunity to explore your own designs and mix your own colours as well as using Lydia’s own blocks. If you have your own woodcut blocks you are welcome to bring these too, just make sure they are clearly labelled or you have a photograph of yours so they don’t get muddled.
Everyone will get 1 napkin and 1 small tote bag to print on.
Those who select and pay for a kit will get the following to take home to continue to play: *5 Lino-cutting Tools * 2 pieces of Soft-Cut Lino * 1 Inking Tray *3 paint sponges * 50ml fabric paint.
