NOTTS- Fabric Printing Workshop Saturday 19th October
2.30-4.30pm, Thomas Cranmer Centre, Aslockton, Notts
Join Lovely Lydia for a fun afternoon of Block Printing for Fabric, in the lovely surroundings of Aslockton's Thomas Cranmer Centre.
All Materials Included to print a Cotton Tea Towel and Tote bag to take home.
Printing is not just for paper! Printing to fabrics is a fab way of imprinting your unique style on accessories that can adorn your home or take out and about with you. This workshop is a perfect way to give fabric printing a try and have fun at the same time! Everyone will have scrap fabric to practise on, and a blank tea towel and a tote bag to print during the workshop and take home.
The workshop is hosted by Lydia, a fabric printer, maker and dressmaker from Suffolk. Lydia runs her own microbusiness printing and making personal and home accessories inspired by the corner of Coast and Country where she lives. Her prints are adorned with hares and seedheads, as well as Lobsters, Crabs and Mermaids. With her experience and guidance you'll spend the afternoon printing using her huge range of wooden printing blocks and linocut designs, with a rainbow of paint colours to play and experiment with. A great creative way to spend an afternoon and go away with new skills that can take you all sorts of places.
If there is anything I can do, or should know before hand to help you enjoy the course, please do tell me so I can do my best to facilitate.

It's going to be a fun afternoon using woodblock and lino prints to print onto a blank cotton tea towel and tote bag. I will bring all materials required for the course (including scrap fabric to print on). If there is anything else you'd like to try printing on, like a t-shirt or other blank fabric, feel free to bring it along to try. Natural fibres in pale colours work best.
Also if you have any woodblocks or linocut blocks at home you'd like to try printing with, feel free to bring them.
